I’ve just been asked to install Matrix 3.18 on a new RHEL 5.1 server.
I’m quite new to all this so you’ll need to forgive me if I ask stupid questions here. I’ve been looking at this for nearly a day and a half…
What are the requirements for PHP and PEAR under 3.18? Have they changed from http://matrix.squiz.net/resources/requirements? (obviously we’re now using PHP5)
Even just pointing me in the right direction would help. I’ve not been able to compile a “fresh” copy of PHP5 with the modules and I’m starting to see double on this one…

The stock PHP RPMs on RHEL5.1 should be fine. You then need to add all the required PEAR modules except DB.

It helped cracking that this forum post was having almost exactly the same problems as I did.
