A-Z listing of CSV data source

Hi,

I can configure a standard asset listing of a CSV data source which works fine, except when I change the list format (on the asset listings' details screen) to 'A-Z listing' and add the keyword %page_list% to the Page Contents, I don't get any results.

So is it possible to even list shadow assets (data record sets) in an A-Z listing? And if so, what step/s am I not taking to see results?

Any help would be appreciated!

Adeline

I am pretty sure that you can't do this with Shadow Assets…

Thanks Nic!

Maybe keep an eye on v4.10.1 and see what the Filter Record Sets functionality can provide. Something may be possible with the dynamic variables…

Thanks for the tip! Will definitely look for that functionality in the next upgrade as we're currently on v4.8.2

I've just done this on 4.8.3.

You could try to setup a Proxy Asset Type for Data Source Record Set.

In your Asset Listing details screen, select assets of type CSV Record Set. Then right click on your asset listing in the asset tree, you will see an option to add a Proxy Asset Type.

Select this, and add a proxy asset for CSV Record Set > Data Source Record Set.

Your asset listing should return the csv records you need. The output from this function seems to be a little slow in the current release. (when I tested, anything > 500 records and I get a script timeout)…

Thanks for trying it out Steve.

I could get the 'standard' asset listing to show shadow assets without the Proxy Asset Type. I've set my 'asset types to list' to Data Record Set, then using the keywords from the 'details' screen of my CSV data source, I was able to print the shadow assets in a 'standard' asset listing.

Were you able to show the shadow assets using the Proxy Asset Type on an 'A-Z listing' format?
