I need to add my IP to the restricted IP permissions to test the user registrations. I have to apply restricted IP permissions so that I can operate in a ‘live’ environment but not let the general public or search engines gain access. Most of the assets I am working with need to be live to test correctly.
I'm unsure how to add my ip address.
Can you help please?
Thanks Sam

Its much easier to add http authentication to the site (in the Apache config) and then you can safely put everything live and test how it will be without crawling etc.

If you are wanting to restrict by IP address, just apply a paint layout to that page, and set up some conditional keywords with an IP range. We do this for a "public" asset builder that is public if you are on-campus, but does not show if you are off campus.
Hi there,
There are two ways you can add IP Restrictions to your site using the Public User asset. Firstly, you can go to the restrictions screen on the public user where you can set the IP Restriction configuration.
Secondly, everytime the public user is 'linked' into a usergroup it allows for another restriction to that link. So if you link the Public User into a random user group, you can apply the restrictions to the public user separate to other public access you might have. So when you apply public user as the permission, choose the link that you have applied the security restrictions to.
