Allow users to choose a page template when creating a new page

Hi guys/gals,

I am looking to find out if its possible to allow an edit+ user to pick a template/design when they choose to create a new page. Hoping to allow people to use a pre-designed set of templates to create their pages.

If so any help/tutorials would be appreciated.

This is usually done using the Cloning tool in the Asset Creation Wizard. So you can set up a folder somewhere that the Asset Finder has access to read, and in the folder create your assets and various pages that have predefined metadata schemas, paint layouts, etc configured, and then your users can just clone those assets as the pre-defined templates to easily create.

Would that work?

I never thought of trying it that way using clone asset.

I think it should allow me to achieve what I am after. Will give it a go.

We’ve seen this done with metadata control over the page template, where the design / layouts uses the metadata values to determine page template.
