Is there any documentation about the Show If Design Area? For instance what are the different conditions?
The conditions are just asset types. Have a look at the asset tree (button next to logout in admin interface)
as for the format of the design area in the parse file, check core/assets/designs/design_areas/design_area_show_if/example_design_area.html
