That’s good to know - in the end we were sent an updated version of 3.6.4 (to fix an Oracle error we were experiencing). The upgrade fixed this issue of acquiring locks in Simple Edit.
FWIW, a full solution to the Simple Edit problems (you may still find a couple with assets like Asset Listings, however with things like Standard Pages they should not be there) will be made available in the March releases (3.8.0 and 3.6.6).

That’s OK - I manage asset listings, and most asset types that aren’t standard pages, in the admin interface.
