Asset builders and cascade of metadata schemas

Hi all,


If I use an asset builder to create an asset under a folder that has a metadata schema applied (with cascade ticked), should the newly created asset inherit that metadata schema?



When I created the asset builder I purposely left the "Metadata Schema to Apply" field blank so that I could use the same asset builder on lots of different sub-sites that contain different metadata schemas. I was under the impression that it would inherit whatever schema its parent had. Im sure it used to work like that.

This is what should be happening. If the cascade option is ticked any asset created beneath it (via backend or asset builder) picks up the attached metadata schemas.

Ive worked it out.


Somehow, in the "Create Locations" screen for the asset builder I had accidentally added asset id #1 (root folder) into the "fixed locations" section. Im not sure how it got there (or what side effects it might have had) but I have removed it and now the metadata schemas are cascading as expected.
