Asset content changed trigger

Couldnt find any reference to the "asset content changed" trigger in the user manuals.

Does it work for file assets as well as page assets?

Have you looked at the Asset Updated event? http://manuals.matrix.squizsuite.net/triggers/chapters/trigger-events#Asset-Updated

It gets fired when the version number is updated.

Sorry, it seems the Asset Content Changed trigger event is not documented, I will look at getting this added asap.

In response to your question, this event is triggered when the content type of an asset is altered (WYSIWYG, Raw HTML etc.). This event won't be triggered for changes to File type assets. Perhaps Nic's suggestion of the Asset Updated event might be more suited to your needs.
