I am wondering if I am missing something, or if I have configured something wrong…
I have built an asset listing which lists events which are held in different folders. These events can be linked to other folders using an Link Manger page, which is great. They can be linked to a first set of folders, which is their "Type". They can also be linked into a second set of folders (with a second Link Manager page) which is their "Department". So any number of these assets could be linked to multiple folders, which is what we want. Then our users can check which folders that are linked under by checking the Link Manager page.
The problem comes when I tried using Group formats. I set it up so that we could group the assets under their "Type", but I did NOT want them to show grouping by their "Department" even though they are linked there. When using group formats it displays the linked assets that have a "Department" in he asset listing. Which is not what I want, and strange because they are not even under the root node.
Is this something that normally happens, or is the expected behavior? I do expect it to show all my links that are under "Type" because that is where the root node is set, but I am not sure why it is showing the linked assets under "Departments" since they are NOT under the root node.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
When you group by Parent asset, you will get all the Parent assets, not just the ones under the Root Node. The Root Node(s) only specify the children to list. Once we have those, we then group by all of the parents of those children assets.
I see. Ok, well, I will just make a work around using Standard pages instead.
Thanks.
