I have an asset listing which in standard mode lists by asset number, or can be custom grouped by various criteria.
I would like to have a straight down the tree listing so that by moving an item to a position in the tree it will display in that position.
Possible? How?
Thanks
I don't think that is possible with an asset listing page. A menu normal design area would display assets how they appear in the tree.
The only way to have an asset listing list in tree order is to leave the sorting option blank and make sure you are listing direct children only.
aleks is right about the menu for multi-level listings because the menu does several DB queries to get levels in the right order, but asset listing only does one.
Thank you, worked a treat! There are lots of windows to work through to get this right.
A Site Map asset would do this too. :)
Oh yeah, of course.
That has not always worked 100% for me, sometimes the order appears to be random.
The order will never random if you have these two settings set. If you are doing other things with the list (like grouping) then the order may change, or if you don't have direct links only selected the order will be random.
