Is it possible for all the assets that I have listed within my asset lister to be automatically linked?
For example I have word documents located in a folder which the asset lister displays but not as a link?
Can this be done with a keyword? Or does each asset need to be linked to the correct word document individually?
Please Help!
In View Source mode, add <A> tags with a keyword:
<a href="%asset_url%">%asset_name%</a>
That's just an example, btw. You can wrap the tags around anything you like (including metadata keywords).
My word documents dont actually display the url…is there something im missing?
ie. I've setup the following:
<a href="%asset_url%">%asset_name%</a>
The Asset Name displays - but just points to the folder that all the documents are located in.
Check that your folder has a web path. You'll find it on the web paths screen of the folder asset.
Also, are your files LIVE? and have they got public read access? I ask because it makes a difference to the URL.
Unfortunately…yes to all.
Anything else I could check?
I cant think of anything off the top of my head. Any chance of getting a look at this system?
There certainly is…
(Edited: Removed URL)
We really dont want to have to create a seperate page for each document since we will eventually have thousands of listings…any help would be appreciated.
Its fixed. It looks like the Word Documents didn't get a URL properly when they were made live, so I just flipped them back under construction and the live again. Unfortunately, there is no Web Paths screen on File assets, so you can't see if the URL was successfully created or not.
Thankyou very much! We're all jumping with joy!
You're welcome.
