We're having some problems with some client machines taking up to 10 minutes to load the asset map java applet.
If this problem is happening on a machine, it doesn't matter who is logged in, or what browser they are using. The reference applet on the Sun website also takes minutes to load.
But the same user logging in on a different machine may load instantly.
Has anyone else come across this, if so, was it solvable, and how?
One idea: check the amount of memory available to Java, and clear the Java cache. If you run out of cache space, it could cause these speed issues. Having said that, I've also heard things like the MTU on a router causing the problems, so there are (unfortunately) other possibilities.
You could also try turning the Java console on, and set the debug mode higher to see if there is anything useful reported.
