Hi All,
I have two sites currently setup within Matrix. Site 1 is live to the 'net and site 2 is ready to roll, but currently only accesible via a govt statenet url.
site1 has a photo gallery page, with links out to larger versions via a relative link ./?a=xx (inserted via the WYSIWYG)
The interesting thing is that this reletive url to the image assets when viewed via site 1, actually has the domain for site2…which is obviously bad seeing as nobody outside the intranet can see it.
At the moment I've hardcoded the full absolute path to site1 for the images and thats working fine…but I can't imagine thats the way it's meant to work. Was it perhaps always assumed by the devs that any url added to matrix would be publicly visible and it just happens to use the first on in the list? Hope not, as exampled by my intranet example.
I'm using the generic media folder for the assets in question, which lives outside of any one site.
Any thoughts? is this a bug to lodge?
Thanks
Dale Drechsler
The Media Folder also has a URLs page. Make sure both URLs are configured for the folder itself. ![]()
Matrix always picks the "best possible" URL, based on the current URL.
ahh, excellent, that would do it.
Thanks for the help. Hmm completely aside, but I've noticed sometimes when I choose "email notification" I dont in fact get one <shrug> anyon else ever get that?
Dale
You only get notified if you're not active on the forum (i.e. in the last 15 minutes).
Edited to add that the server on which the forums are hosted did suffer some mail inconsistencies last week, which may have caused the missed notifications.
ahh I often leave the forum window open after I post, I guess that might be the cause.
there's usually method to the madness eh
Cheers
