Hi All
I read this post http://gregsherwood.blogspot.com/2008/03/rating-content-and-calculating-average.html on how to set up average rating

I followed all the steps

ie

I applied a meta data schema that has a text field

I set up the trigger



but when I rate a news item an average is not calculated and the metadata field value remains as default which is 0.



What I'm confused about is how matrix knows to store the average value within the metadata field

Actually don't worry- I worked it out
I had missed an important step

I didn't see the section of the trigger where it allows you to select the metadata field
