Bulk-converting standard page assets to TYPE_2 links

Is there an easy way to convert a large number of standard page assets to TYPE_2 links? I've read that this can't be done with a trigger.

Is the purpose of making them type_2 to remove them from a menu?


If so, you can make folder which is type_2 linked that contains all the menu items you want hidden.

The only way I can see to do it with a trigger is to mass relink them to a new parent with a TYPE_2 link and then move them back. My trials didn't seem to want to change the existing link type, which is annoying. Though, I admit I didn't have a lot of time to play with it.

I have just tried to do this and yes it seem sthat you cannot change the existing link type - unless you move it to another asset and change the link type. I may be missing something though?

No, that's right -- you need to move the assets out and back again.
