Bulk File Upload Import Tool Question Feature 3.11

Hey all, I was wondering if some of the squiz guys could explain this tool a little more?

Does this mean that the mass import will now move into the user space of the system?

Will the files still need to be pre-uploaded to the server prior to being able to run this tool?

Has there been any thought on that process, and php file upload restrictions etc?

Just curious, as this could have implications on our system and how we manage what users can do :D’ /> <img src=‘http://forums.matrix.squiz.net/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif’ class=‘bbc_emoticon’ alt=’

This tool provides a GUI for the current import_files script distributed with Matrix. It allows users (any backend user) to import files that are either uploaded by the user during the process or pre-uploaded onto the server (in a specific directory that an admin sets).

This is a tool though, so it does not have to be installed if you dont want to give users this functionality.

Thats cool, what they dont know wont hurt them then

We manage thr running of the import tool to off-peak load times etc, to avoid stress on the DB, unless you can wrap around blackout times on tools to only allow them to be run during certain times hehehehe
