Is there a way to import a bulk list .CSV that only has email addresses? I have a huge list of emails without names and want to add them to my newsletter subscribers but bulk mail import gives back an error because there is info missing??
Any help would be great and save me hours!!
I would import it into Excel (or a spreadsheet of your choice) and add the firstname of "Newsletter" and surname of "Subscriber" to every entry, then export it back out to CSV. :)
Thanks it worked, took a while tho I think a bulk mail import where you can choose to skip certain fields would be so much better? maybe an idea. Thank you
Feel free to submit that as a feature request on our Bug Tracker. :)
I am trying to import about 800 email addresses as well, that do not have names. So I followed the instructions here, but keep getting an error. Here is the format of my .cvs file:
Letter Home, email1@email.com
Letter Home, email2@email.com
Letter Home, email3@email.com
Letter Home, email4@email.com
Letter Home, email5@email.com
Is this the correct format? The error I keep getting:
WARNING: "email1@email.comLetter Home" is not a valid value for attribute "email" [SYS0073]

Well, I knew Excel for Mac was bad, but I didn't think that bad. Unfortunately I had to bring the file into windows, and I saved it into .cvs from there, and that did the trick. Strange.
Macs and Windows have different line breaks by default. I believe Excel for Mac has a "Save as Windows" option for CSV that will add the corrent (\r\n) line breaks to the file.
Ah ha. Now I see it. Never noticed that option before. Maybe this should be noted if the Bulk Mail documentation is ever updated.
Thanks.
