Caching Levels - Permission and Group

Matrix Version: 6.50.0

Does anyone have experience with permission-level caching and group-level caching under Cache Manager? I tried to enable these features expecting them to apply only to logged-in (SSO) users accessing the intranet site, but I’ve started noticing issues on the public website. Cookies were globally applied to the public users even though they didn’t select the option.

I did notice improvements on the intranet website, pages were loading faster.

What are the disadvantages of enabling these caching options?

Cookies are unrelated to cache.

Group level caching can provide a benefit if you have a small number of groups by sharing Matrix cache across users who are in the same groups.

Permission level caching is unlikely to provide a benefit.
