Can't change asset status to Under Construction

I have an image that I added to a design. I changed its status to Live and have successfully used the image in the design. I am updating the design and am trying to remove the image. I can't move it to the Trash until its status is changed to Under Construction, but the system won't let me change it. No errors are given. It simply appears as though it is succeeding until the page refreshes and the status is still Live.


I can change the status to Safe Edit, Up For Review, and back to Live, but not Under Construction or Archived.



Any pointers would be appreciated.

I am not sure that you can change the status of a child asset to under construction from live if your parent design is live. I would try moving the image to a different location, then set it under construction and delete.

Funnily enough, I encountered this problem with a colleague just recently. What happens if you put it into Safe Edit, cancel the changes, and then try putting it Under Construction?

=> Safe Edit (success) => Cancel Safe Edit (success) => Under Construction (fail)

After moving the image, I was able to change its status. Thanks!



Apparently the Live/Under Construction status seems tied to the design. Changing the design status to Under Construction also works. Even if cascade status change isn't selected, the status of the children (except CSS design files) are changed to match as well.
