Customising Edit+

If I want to remove H1 heading level from Viper toolbar, what is the best way to do this?

config change? JS plugin? or something else more crude?

Headings is an individual plugin in Viper and I don't see a way to remove an select heading level from the list. What you could do is target those viper editable areas with some custom CSS and make it obvious that people should not be using them in the editor (I'm assuming it's because you want the heading level 1 to be taken care of with the design/paint layout). Danny did this with one of our internal repositories and styled the heading level with a background that made it obvious that editors shouldn't be using this and it seems to work quite well.

Hey Aleks

We currently have two discussions in our Viper Roadmap around this sort of thing, as it comes up a fair bit.

#3152 - Restrictions over what HTML tags can be used

#2604 - Heading level restrictions

Both of which talk about similar things and would solve what you outline above.

Anthony's suggestion around styling particular headings with specific CSS (which you could do purely with CSS3) to draw attention to the fact they they can't be used would be a decent strategy until Viper can support these extended features. Use of CSS 'before' and 'after' in these case could help to add a message to direct the user in what to do with the heading.

That would be nice - but I don't have access to Roadmap

Hey Aleks

I always make mention of related discussions (ticket #) where possible just in case you need to talk to your local Squiz rep about related activity.
