Q4. How can I get you to “limit my obligation” under the licence?
A4. Just ask. Fill in the contact form here and tell us who you are, what you plan to use MySource Matrix for and why you think we should limit your obligation under the licence. In most cases we will agree to waive your obligation to notify us of modifications for $AUD 15 per annum of if you contribute something usefully to the project (eg code or documentation).
In cases where you plan to create modules for re-sale then the fee will be set based upon the price you intend to charge for the module and who you intend to sell it to. Again speak to us for more information.

Does not sound like open source to me.
You would havee been better creating a dual license, it’s less deceiving.
It’s funny how sqiz.net needs to know who the module is sold to as well.

MySource Classic (2.10) and MySource Matrix (3.4) are two different products with similar licencing.

Deceiving, how? The product is Open Source: the code is freely available and the licence allows you to copy and modify the code to suit your requirements. I think you're confusing Open Source with free. Just because a product is Open Source, does not mean it has to be free. And our base product is free. We simply request that you let us know if you write anything nifty for our product.
We don't prevent you from modifying our product. We don't prevent you from distributing stuff that you write. We just ask that you provide us a copy of it as well. In fact, we don't even mind if you write something to sell; as long as you give us a copy of it as well.
Open Source does not mean Free. It means the Source Code is Open to be read, inspected, changed, manipulated, copied or distributed according to the terms of the licence that accompanies the Source Code in question.
It is important to note that the current license is temporary and has been going through a complete overhaul for the last few months. I cant release any details at the moment though.
Sounds scary, should we be (scared)?
We were in the process of getting our licence OSI certifed, but with the uncertainty on the future of the currently certified OSI licences, we are not going to release details of the new licence for MySource Matrix until OSI release details of the new critieria for their certification of Open Source licences.
