Hi
We are investigating converting a website to MySource Matrix and have what seems to be an unusual feature that I am wondering how it can be dealt with. For our site, we have some lengthy documents dealing in detail with statutory regulations, but only some sections will be relevant for some people. Also, it is very relevant for a printable version of the relevant areas to be available for people.
So, for example, I might have a section in the site split into five different topics, and I then might want to group some of those topics together as they are the ones I am interested in:
Section A
Topic 1
Topic 2
Topic 3
Topic 4
Topic 5
Could I choose Topic 1,3,4 as a selection and then get a display of something printable? Like a printer friendly view or PDF or ??? How does MySource Matrix deal with this?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide in answering this question.
Interestingly, I've just been asked about the identical functionality from a client of mine. Currently, there is no simple way to achieve this. I'm trying various techniques to see if I can reproduce the functionality, so if I work anything out, I'll let you know.
Though, its obviously possible with funded development. It would probably not be terribly difficult to add a new Dynamic Parameter to the existing asset listing to get its list of assets to paint from a GET/POST variable. We can already paint input fields, so combined, this would give you the required functionality.
Just a note that this would only be able to generate a print-friendly HTML view – Matrix is not currently able to generate PDF documents.
