Hi I just read this in a reply to a topic but it is dated dec last year so wondering if it still applies?
The e-commerce module is a framework for the development of specific ecommerce solutions. We would consult with each client to exten the ecommerce module for each client’s specific needs.
Is this still the case in 3.16?
I need to use the payment gateway so that people can make donations online as is done on this site which I saw in the Squiz clients list https://www.amnesty.org.au/donate.
Can someone advice me on this please? Can’t see anything in any of the documentation on how to use the e-commerce module…
E-commerce still normally needs some customisation if you want to build a store, but 3.16 allows you to at least make credit card payments via a form without development. You can simulate purchasing products with the payment form, but it is mostly used as a way to pay bills online, or make donations.
So the Ecommerce form is used for credit card details? I'm a little confused as the most recent manual (3.4.4) only mentions the Ecommerce Form Page and Esec Payment Gateway assets but 3.16 has a Cart, Checkout Page (where I thought credit card details would be entered), Default Delivery Method and Product assets as well.
Anyone else using ecommerce? Can anyone give me any quick/basic instructions on how to setup a very simple shopping cart with all these assets?
