Edit+ Asset Finder

Hi Guys,

I have found this issue a few times with different users computers since upgrading to the Edit+ interface in October.

I haven't put it in the "Phase 4 known issues" post because I think this is more related to the web browser that the interface itself.

Below I have attached a photo screenshot of a the Asset Finder, with a few comments added to it.

The mis-aligning of the Asset Finder is the main issue here.

Browser: Firefox version 16

OS: Windows 7

I have tried clearing the cache.

The Asset Finder displays fine in Internet Explorer (but the WYSIWYG/Viper does not display at all well in IE).

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was the cause and solution?

Thanks!

Emily.

It looks like this is related to something you posted back in July?

Visually it looks like the same issue, can you confirm the zoom fix doesn't work?

Are you able to provide more information about Viper display in IE (browser version, screenshots etc). We've previously seen a few cases where IE8 is in IE7 compatibility mode, which will cause Edit+/Viper not to work properly (unsupported configuration).

Hi Anthony,

I didn't notice someone else had posted about this on a different occasion. (We have about 4 staff who use the account in my team).

Interesting it didn't come up in the search results when I searched to see if there was already a topic about it.

Thanks for directing me to this. I will check with the user today if that fixes the problem and let you know.

From the sounds of it, I hope it will!

(And I hope it will then solve the secondary problem of the third column not displaying).

Thanks again!

Emily.

Ah right, that solves a bit of confusion :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the issue with that might be that the displacement of those elements makes it a little difficult to see which items you are clicking on. If an item has a lock on it then it indicates that user doesn't have permission and the finder won't allow you to click on it.

Hi Anthony,

Just as a follow-up to this, and hopefully if someone else has the same issue it'll help them.

Turned out to be a Zoom-related issue, however, not browser-related.

It ended up being that in her (Windows 7) settings, she had the screen display (NOT resolution, this is different) set to 125%. Once I changed it back to the default "Smaller 100%" it was fine.

Thanks again,

Emily.

Thanks Emily, I'm sure that will help others who might have the same issue. I am surprised it was caused by the Operating system zoom though, it's not something I've thought to check against.
