I'm trying to set up an email address link as a Matrix redirect asset, in order to be able to track the number of hits to this redirect asset via our web analytical software.
I am using the code:
<a href="./?a=123456">email@email.com</a>
Where '123456' is the redirect asset which has its URL set to 'mailto:email@email.com' on the Details screen
However, clicking on this updated link , opens the email window twice and also make the web page where the link appears go blank.
I have tried a both a 'page redirect asset' and a 'HTML redirect asset' and get the same errors with both.
Any suggestion for how I can make this work?

This isn't strictly the role of the redirect asset, however if you wanted to output the value of the url you entered you could do this:
email@email.com
