Anyone tried to install Matrix RC2 on the Ensim Webpliance server?
I was going to give it a go, see if I can offer some sort of package through that to my resellers. Was wondering if there was anyone out there who can offer me advice before I take the plunge?
(And no - don't really want the advice of 'dont do it' 
But Im sure that will come through)

Yes, don't. (Sorry, I had to!)
I have managed to get Matrix working on Ensim Webppliance Pro 3.50, but it requires root access, and it won't work in a High Security site. You also need to modifiy a whole bunch of httpd.conf files and do fun things to PEAR too.
It can work, but I wouldn't recommend giving it to users, as the security aspects you need to tweak are not great.
The whole Ensim chroot thing, while fantastic for security, really screws Matrix up.

Okay - so Ill leave it until I really REALLY want to play (which isn't now).
Root access isnt a problem… but… yes… its starting to sound like work… which Im sort of not thrilled about
Hmm - so I could put it on for my site but none of my users? Well I guess its an option.
Yeah, its work. It really doesn't like being run via the PHP intepreter, so you have to turn off all the safe mode PHP stuff and then get PEAR into the chroot jail and that's just the start!
