what is esec custom asset and which manual can i get more details about
It is a custom payment gateway, but it does not get used within Matrix. It is just a tool for creating custom payment screens by developers.
There s no documentation and you shouldn't use it or create one.
thanks,
having another problem
1)i tried to create "Esec" it complained with cannot link to a typ_2 linked form then i checked "E-commerce" it was type_1 only
2)where is the problem how do i resolve this. though Ecommerce form contents are type_2 and it wouldn't allow me to convert o type_1
there are 2 queries please advise how do i resolve this.
sorry, i should have read your email properly, that means it is meant for "Squiz developers" is that correct?
Greg,
- i have a form, which subsequently will have to use shopping cart and then a payment gateway.
the form has a bit advanced calculation in the form of calculating gst 10% of the total amount (that too based on what the users choose)
does e-commerce provide such facility?
or else
- is there a way i write the above as a remote application and then hook to the e-commerce (squiz) and then bring the variable back as a remote content.
- or do you suggest i should not use squiz-ecommerce at all?
The Ecommerce module for MySource Matrix allows you to search for and list products, and construct a shopping cart. It does not handle any payment gateways currently.
So I would suggest either getting Squiz to further develop the module for your requirements, or to build the shop outside of Matrix can use remote content to bring it into your site. We have used this approach succesfully with MySource Matrix remote contenting a MySource Classic shop.

This post is a little old and perhaps it has happened since this post, but my understanding is that version 3:16 of the system already has a shopping cart that handles payment gateways - Is this correct?
No. There is the form with the gateway for accepting one-off payments. The cart has a complete plugin to create an order and capture payment details, but it just allows them to be emailed or stored locally for offline processing.
Greg - I was told by your people the other day that version 3.18 had been finished (not yet ready for release) but finished and stock control had been added to the shopping cart. Is this true?
Yes, stock control is in 3.18 and will also be in the next 3.16 version (3.16.6) to be released next month.
Greg, it seems incredible to go to all the trouble to put in an automated system like stock control and then manually process the payments - Perhaps this version is linked to the gateway? or are they just passing the values to Paypal?
We build what our clients ask us to build. In this case, they don't want/need online payments for whatever reason, but they do want stock control. I don't know the specifics on their particular implementation so I'm not sure how they process the payments.
Hi
We are thinking of setting up a shopping cart to be able to take payments online for certain items
is there something we can build now in version 3.18.5, I have noticed the following options, eg car, checkout page, esec gateway etc.
Can we now set up a payment gateway through esec and set up our own shopping cart and if so is there any documentation or do we need to go to the developers for this and if so what is the process…Thanks
Yes, 3.18 (and newer 3.16 systems) have a complete ecommerce system. The manual has not yet been written yet, so I suggest contacting Squiz so they can help you configure it.
