Export metadata to xml

Hi,

I have applied some metadata to a bunch of PDF files in Matrix. Is it possible to export this metadata to XML for indexing by an external search engine?

You can create an asset listing of your PDF files and then create the XML file that way. You need to write the XML tags yourself and use keywords to print metadata values. It will not dynamically list all your metadata for you.

Got the asset listing working and the XML.

Just wondering if there is a "safe limit" to the number of assets that an asset listing can work with comfortably? I imagine that processing 2000+ files for an XML listing will be intensive and maybe bring the server to its knees!

The safe limit depends entirely on how good your server is. 2000 is a lot though.
