Forms: dropdown box - Option vs. value

I ve got a form with a select question that has got several options.
What I want to do is for example to have Australia as the option in the dropdown and

when the user clicks on commit, the value obtained is its country code (e.g. 61), instead od "Australia".



Off course I am not working with countries, that was just an example. Need to match words - codes.
