Is there a problem with the Global Search and Replace tool?
I am trying to search for a URL string, for example http://blah/blah across the whole site and replace with http://blah/blah. I select an asset status and tick the box for seach entire system and I dont get anything back. The URL i am searching for is referenced in links within the site.
Search and replace can only find results for words inside the content, not links or other attributes of HTML tags. When the search manager indexes your content, it first strips those tags, and words under your length threshold and in your blacklist, before indexing what is left. Only those words can be found.
To do a global search and replace of a link, you need to do it via a PHP script or directly in the DB. The tool is not designed for that task.
