Hi,
Besides putty, what is the GUI for accessing the source code for MYSOURCE MATRIX.
it is still on pilot server.
GUI for accessing code
There is no specific GUI for accessing code on a Linux server. There are several editors that can make SFTP connections, though, which you could use. For example, I prefer Macromedia Dreamweaver, but that's a commercial application.
Alternatively, you could use products like jEdit or PHPEclipse on a Windows or Linux PC and TextWrangler or BBedit on MacOS X.
Essentially, any text editor will do, you just need to work out how you will send/receive files, so a text editor with a built-in FTP client is preferred.
i am trying to install phpeclipse. followed the instructions. when i went to software updates after a while gives a network connections error.
the below is the msg that i am getting, pretty sure it is from their side and not this side.
Network connection problems encountered during search.
Unable to access "http://update.eclipse.org/updates/3.2".
Unable to access site: "http://update.eclipse.org/updates/3.2" [Network is unreachable: connect]
Unable to access site: "http://update.eclipse.org/updates/3.2" [Network is unreachable: connect]
are you able to assist me where am i going wrong
Correct. This is a PHPEclipse problem and you should seek support from them directly.

Each developer uses their favourite editor. I believe most use jEdit, while the Mac guys sometimes use TextWrangler or bbEdit. I personally use Dreamweaver, but I think I’m the exception rather than the rule!
Also keep in mind that your Server Administrators will need to allow you access to the code on your server. By default, this code is not accessible from external connections. You will have to configure either FTP or SFTP (recommend) access to the code itself.
May I also ask why you need access to the code itself? Perhaps there is another way of achieving your particular goal.
