If I run a long HIPO job to regenerate my metadata for example I keep getting the login page popping up every 10% of the job. I then have to login and resume the job, quite frustrating. Is there a setting I can change/increase to prevent this so the job runs all the way through on it's own without me having to login every 10 minutes or so.
I've increased my web memory to 96M from the default 64M as we had a memory exhaustion error too at one point.
Any help appreciated.

Looks like you are getting logged out while the HIPO is running obviously.
Is your main admin interface tab still open while the HIPO is running or do you close the tab?
Also what are the values for
"Metadata Regeneration Threshold" under "System Configuration" > "HIPO Configuration"
and
"Session Expiry Rules" under "System Configuration" > "Global Preferences" > "User Preferences"

Is your main admin interface tab still open while the HIPO is running or do you close the tab? Yes, still open, if fact I often do other admin/editing in Matrix Admin interface whilst waiting for the HIPO job to complete but then suddenly get the logded out (login page is displayed).

I was trying to regenerate the metadata on hundreds of assets (standard and multiple pages) as we added some new fields.
"Session Expiry Rules" under "System Configuration" > "Global Preferences" > "User Preferences" = "When the user closes the browser"
A colleague also experienced this when trying to regenerate lots of metadata.
