Hi,
I am new to MySource and I am trying to find out if I can add a thumbnail image ot a standard page that opens a larger image when you click on it.
I have managed to create a smaller image using 'Varieties' and I have managed to add the thumbnail to a standard page but I cant get it to open the larger image?
Can MySource do this??? If so how would I get this to work?
Cheers Sophia
As you may have discovered, adding a thumbnail to an asset doesn't affect how your website actually looks. You need to alter your design to make use of these images. Extending on this, you use an Asset Listing to print the thumbnail, and potentially, print a link to the original size image.
So really there isnt an automatic way for a thumbnail to link to a larger image without altering the deisgn and creating a asset listing. Thanks daniel :)
No, there is no automatic way to do this. You have to use an asset listing to list your thumbnails (image varieties) and then put a link around them which will link to your larger image. We do in our PUC Gallery all the time. :)
You should be able to use the asset_thumbnail series of keywords without needing to use asset listings, but you'd need to add those keywords into your design or paint layout.
Thanks for that Greg :--)))
I have a similar problem: I have created a 'variety' of an image file to use as a thumbnail, now I want to use an asset listing to display the smaller images, but link to the larger ones.
For a start, I can't add the 'variety' as the thumbnail of the larger parent, is this normal?
So anyway, I tried using keywords %asset_thumbnail_v_small% (small is the name of my variety) and then %asset_v_small%, but nothing like that seems to work.
Where am I going wrong?
