How to back up data and configuration value

Now I use version 3.16.4 and I want to upgrade to 3.18
I have some questions about this

  1. Do I need to upgrade from 3.16.4 to 3.16.6 before upgrading to 3.18?

If so, my technical support tell me that there is no upgrade guide on the website.

  2. Database in version 3.18 has been changed from version 3.16.

So if I install the new version, will my all data and configuration values disappear?

How is the way to back up these data and configuration value?

    Thank you very much

It is recommended, yes. You should follow the normal minor upgrade procedure.

The method of connecting is different, but the database itself remains the same. We always recommend you minor upgrade procedure before you perform an upgrade, but all of your data and configuration will remain in place.

I have already upgraded to version 3.16.6 and continue to upgrade to version 3.18.0.

But I found a problem in this process -> Run Queries For New Lookup Value System

by having this error -> ERROR: current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block

My technical support has tried to find information and finds that it occurs because of bug of database.

He solved the problem by following step in this link -> minor upgrade procedure

but the error still remains.

Please recommend to me for doing next step.

Thank you

This is not correct – you need to check the error logs to see the first error, not the last. Once Matrix hits an error, it cancels the transaction (to protect the data). The error you’re seeing is what happens after Matrix aborts the transaction.
