Hi all
I am trying to insert a template element in the middle of a news item… so, maybe a div area with an image (say, an advertisment).
I have tried a few things but this doesn't seem possible… what would be ideal would be:
Headline
Paragraph
Advertisement
Paragraph
Naturally I don't want to be manually inserting the advertisement into the content area manually every time.
Is this something that a painted layout can achieve?
Cheers

Short answer: Yes!
hi,
this sounds interesting…
I haven't become comfortable with the Paint Layout yet.
But can you show an example of how the paint layout knows where a paragraph ends and a new starts in the body content?
News items have a summary bodycopy and body bodycopy, so you could potentially have:
(note these keywords are from memory and may not be spot on)
%asset_attribute_headline%
%asset_attribute_summary% (advertisement, possibly using nested content) %asset_attribute_body%
I'm not sure you could do what has been described with just a standard page and one div, however you could do it with a standard page and two divs (using an asset listing of the divs).
As Dan says, the simplest way to do this with a paint layout is to insert the advert inbetween the summary and the body keywords. It would require development to insert something in the middle of a single div.
Ok,
then I had my horses in the stable on this.
Thanks
