I've linked in some LDAP users under additional user groups in order to give them permission to edit additional web sites. However their permissions don't actually update … it's as if I never added them to the additional groups at all.
This problem was solved for one user by having them click the logout button, then logging in again. However another user has logged in and out several times over the course of about a month since I made the change and they still haven't got the updated level of access that comes from being linked-in to the extra user groups.
(We're using Matrix 3.18.10)
Does anyone have any ideas about this?

It should work fine, and yes you do have to logout and back in again for permission changes to take effect.
We'd need to look at the specific user and see what groups Matrix thinks they are in to be able to determine what is going on. I suggest contacting Squiz Support to arrange access. They will need to login as the LDAP user having problems, so you may need to change their password temporarily.
