I'm trying to create an item on a navigation menu (generated by a design parse file) to another location in the site.
[list=1]
Using the built in linking (from the linking screen), the content is effectively duplicated in two locations.
[*]I tried creating a linking, which rather oddly shows up as an empty page with a single hyperlink in the contents.
I'm just wondering if anyone could tell me the recommended way of linking from one part of the site to another in this manner.

I'm not sure how to answer... We have same assets linked in many places - so we use first method & we have some Redirect Page assets...
Redirect Page assets helps when You have menu with more levels & want only to show first level.
I want to avoid duplicate content because this will all be publicly indexed in search engines and the like. I don't have any data on it, but I have an inkling redirects aren't particularly good practise anyway (and having two HTTP requests owing to a redirect asset ought to be avoided where possible).
Thankfully it's still in the early stages, so I'll rearrange my assets so they don't require links.
