If i wanted to create a listing of docs (pdfs, word, etc) of any status am i best creating a custom page asset listing so that is doesn't select only live documents?
I want this for the Content Management part of the site for the co-ordinators of the different area's.
For example if i was to load say 50 documents using the import script i would want them to be able to go and get a list of this documents and then edit the properties for each one and they will still be in the status of under construction and therefor won't list in a normal asset listing page.
I would only use this in the Content Management area of the site. I have played with this and got it working as it is only one line that seems to need removing from an inc file for the page asset listing to display docs of any status. I suppose it would be nice to have a list to select from at some point.
The asset listing lists all live and public assets for everyone. For any other asset, it only lists asset you have write access to.
It used to only list live assets - but has been listing other statuses for a while now. What version of Matrix are you using?
I'm using 3.4.1. I've tried it wil some of the documents of status Under Construction and they don't show. I have write acces to the docs as well.
So should the asset listing list docs of any status?
There should be a status selection box on the details screen. I've tested it today and it works for me.
I've just added a asset listing page to my site and aquired a lock on the details page and there is no status selection box.
I'm using 3.4.1. Thats what it says at the bottom of the menu.
Is there some way i can check the version of the asset listing page? I'm sure i updated it when we upgraded to 3.4.1.
Sorry, my bad. That feature was added to the dev version not the stable one. I'd say go ahead and make the change if you need it now. You can remove it when the next stable is released (3.6).

I can probably get by until the next stable release. I know this is a tough question but what are the initial plans for the release of the next version? 
If all goes well, a beta will be released at the start of June. Stable will come at least 2 months after but it may be more depending on what we find during beta testing.
