Log outs / lines missing

Since I started using Squiz (3months ago) I have been experiencing this ongoing problem. I've tried changing from IE to Firefox but still same problem so it cant be the browser (i think)

Basically I get logged out while in my session and need to log back in (this is in the middle of doing updates and imports very frustrating) the other thing that is guarenteed to happen in every session is the top line of the back end "Logged in as: ********** squiz supported version warranty valid" also the hipo herder, global tools and log out button all dissapear with what looks like a "404" error in the background?? what is this and why do i keep getting this problem? is it just me or is it something that happens reguarly?

If you are a Squiz client, you should contact Squiz Support so that we can look at your system – this has not been reported by any other client, so it must be something specific to your installation and/or infrastructure.

My developer is the client of squiz (LoggedOn Group) they mentioned to me they have spoken about this issue with squiz and dont have any answers for me this is why im asking directly, Maybe i'll ask them to contact Squiz again.

This problem Alex is having with being logged out during sessions is unique - nobody else is experiencing it on that system.

The problem with the error pushing the buttons down in the back frame is consistent and seems to be something that's just accepted on the system. I have posted about this before and was just told to open the back frame separately. Once you do this, you have to log out - Then it brings up the Hippo Herder and you can delete the stalled Hippo jobs that are causing the error message which pushes the buttons out of view.

That work around is OK for our people who are working with the system all the time, but it is a bit frustrating for clients and hard to have to explain to them.

There is something specific about your system that is causing this error though -- it doesn't happen on any other system. Have you asked Squiz Support to investigate the cause of the actual error?

My developer Mike Barker is aware of the ongoing issue i have, Im sure hes been in contact with squiz support,

the other thing is the wysiwig, A perfect example is what im trying to do now, entering content (large amount) select one line to bold and change colour then all the text on page changes colour, I cant single out the one line or sometimes one word to just change, or when I do make a change and confirm it it doesnt appear in preview (this is more on the text size then anything else) then the most frustrating part is im halfway through entering the info and then...logged out! (like just now!)

This usually happens when you have line breaks between paragraphs instead of paragraph breaks. The styling is then carried across all the content. Are you are pasting content from Microsoft Word into the WYSIWYG? If so, are you using the Replace Text tool to remove the Word formatting?

I copied the text from notepad, so dont see why this would still happen if coping from notepad? if it is pasted in the wysiwig is there a way to edit it in there without going back to the original document?

If you're copying from Notepad, ensure that there are no line breaks by turning Word Wrap off -- each paragraph should all be on a single line. When you paste it into Matrix's WYSIWYG editor, it will automatically wrap it for you. The WYSIWYG is a full-blown editor, so once it is pasted, you should do all your editing in Matrix.
