We want to turn off the emails that are sent every time HIPO jobs are cleared, the system config is updated and a lock is forcibly acquired. I assume I just remove the following from the 'Log to Email White List' section in the 'Messaging Service Configuration':
asset.locking.forced
config.
hipo.
What I would like to know is will important system alerts still be sent via email? Such as when there is a DB connection failure? … Or anything equally drastic that requires immediate attention.

Yes, all errors will still be sent to you as they do not use internal message system.
