Login problems admin console

installed mysource matrix, got it up and running, installed a design, made a few pages, everything worked fine.

couple of days later, trying to get to the admin console site_url/_admin just brings up the home page for the site as does site_url/_admin/?SQ_ACTION=login

any ideas?

or is it drop the table and repeat install_02 and install_03, but I need to know what I did wrong so I don't do it again

Check the /path/to/matrix/data/private/conf/main.inc file and make sure you haven't changed the _admin and _edit suffixes.

No

SQ_CONF_BACKEND_SUFFIX is _admin

and SQ_CONF_LIMBO_SUFFIX is _edit

I get the home page with:

http://sitename

I get the home page with

http://sitename

I get the standard layout with

http://sitename

and the following error message
MySource error

Unable to find an Asset for the URL "http://sitename/home/_edit" [SYS0245]
This is the top half of ther email I get
MySource Error

File : [SYSTEM_ROOT]/core/include/asset.inc

Line : 4045

Version : 3.10.2

DB Type : pgsql

Unable to find an Asset for the URL "http://sitename/_edit" [SYS0245]

(Edited to remove site-specific URLs)

Have you perhaps removed that URL from the Site asset itself? Matrix seems to be complaining that it can't find an Asset for that URL.

I can find

http://sitename/home

the page displays fine (the home page)

and

http://sitename/home or http://sitename/home displays http://sitename/home (the home page)

but

http://sitename/home or http://sitename/home displays the error message can’t find asset

editted to get the buts in the right place

Weird. I can't think of any reason why it would do that. Have you tried upgrading to the latest version of Matrix?

It was a fresh installation of 3.10.2

Are you a Squiz client? If so, I'd suggest logging a support request so that we can take a look at this. I've not seen anything like this before. :frowning:

Not yet, long story but basically I need Matrix running so then I can convince people this is the CMS to use and that we need proffesional support.

Just dropped the table and carrying out a reinstall, with new and interesting error messages :frowning:

Matrix cannot be reinstalled without clearing out the database and filesystem. The installation process doesn't allow you to reinstall over the top of an existing system. The simplest way to reinstall is to drop the PostgreSQL database completely and erase the filesystem as well. Then, unpack the source from the tarball and start again.

my problem was dropping the database but no erasing the filesystem, once that was done. the reinstall worked fine.

I can now access http://sitename/_admin so it must of been something I did in mysource I did to block access to _admin and _edit

It all appears to be working fine now.

edit for clarity

Groovy.
