Moving from Classic

Hi there,

After many years our company is moving our site from Mysource Classic and I am really hoping someone can help me with how to implement 301 redirects on all of the old urls. I have spent many hours trying to do this and I am going insane.

The current URLs are: http://www.domain.com.au/category?cid=287&pid=344

And I am trying to redirect them to: http://www.newdomainname.com.au/category/page

I cannot find where to implement these rules in the .htaccess files that I've found (neither are working) and I really hope someone at Squiz still knows Classic or can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the Remap Manager under System Administration.

I'm sure you can import into it from CSV now too…

Thanks for the reply Peter but I'm actually referring to MySource Classic, the version of Mysource from about 10 years ago. I'm moving from that into another CMS, not Matrix unfortunately as it didn't have everything we needed.

This is a forum for MySource Matrix only so the skills of the people here are specific to matrix. Squiz doesn't support MySource Classic any more, so you wont find any real help besides the old manuals, if you still have them.

I've never worked on Classic, but from what little I do know about it I'm pretty sure you should be able to get standard RewriteRules working, see:

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_rewrite.html#rewriterule

Google has lots of well explained examples…
