I've searched the bug tracker and this forum for any mention of a problem I'm having with the ordering of instances in the Multi-Date Calendar Event asset.
When I have several instances, the way that they're sorted in the Details screen is inexplicable: it's not based on the asset ID for each instance, and it's not based on the start date provided in each instance.
I have attached part of a screen dump as an example of this problem. In this example there are 4 instances and chronologically, the 31st Jan 2011 8pm is the first instance, and was also the first instance that I created as can be seen from the asset ID (#78940), yet it appears 2nd in the list of instances. It's not so much a problem when there's only a few instances, but many of our Multi-Date Calendar Event assets have dozens of instances, and not having any obvious order in the instances makes it difficult to edit.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Ideally it would order them by the "Occurs on" dateā¦

Unfortunately, multi-date event asset will only list the dates by the create order. It's easy for user to add new events.
It would be ideal to add extra options such as "sort by start date", ascending, descending etc.
Hi Edison,
if "multi-date event asset will only list the dates by the create order" then you would expect the asset ID's to be in order, but as you can see from the image I attached in my original posting, they're not. The point I was trying to make was that there is no discernible order at all to the instances.
