New domains in squiz matrix

i think i'm missing something simple :frowning:

i refered to this tutorial http://forums.squizsuite.net/index.php?showtopic=9

that helped me get a test page on the internet for the domain that i used on installation.

in 'system configuration' in matrix you can list system root urls, which i understand are the domains/sub domains you want to work on.

however the only one that can be viewed on the internet is the original domain registered…

like i said i am probably missing something basic…

can anyone help?

Ok, so that tutorial is from 2004, even though it is still somewhat helpful. For any matrix specific issues you can refer to Installation guide or Online manuals

I think the issue here though is that your DNS may be wrong, or your apache configuration (see install guide).

Do you have a different site asset for the new domain or maybe added the new domain to the current site asset?

-test.domain.co.uk (this one works)

-another design

-another.domain.co.uk (this one doesnt)

etc…

does this look right to you?

Looks right. So if you are both listed in the System Configuration, it might be what Anthony said. You are either missing a DNS entry for another.domain.co.uk or you are missing a hosts file for it (if you are working locally)

ok,
so here's what you have to do:

add the new domain to the dns records of your root domian(with the appropiate ip address)

add the new domain to the apache VirtualHost ServerAlias

then restart apache, then after a short wait it works…

thanks for your help, saved me a lot of time
