I've noticed that if i go into a subforum, say Designs and if i then click on the text Mysource Matrix in the breadcrumb at the top of the page to go back to the subforum page it doesn't display the MySource Matrix Users Groups box or the Board Statistics box. But if i click on the text MySource Matrix Support Forum when in a subforum it works fine.
Is it supposed to work like this or is this a little bug in the forum software.

Its supposed to work like that. Its taking you to the top of the section, not the board index itself.
