G'day,
We have one page on our site that only one of our users (a member of the "System Administrators" group) can edit. For everyone else (including the other member of the "System Administrators" group and even the root user) the page can't be edited, and there's only the option to "Show Lock Details". The lock details don't say that someone else has the page locked, just "You do not have access to edit".
I've looked under "System Configuration" - "Active Locks" and there's nothing there that applies to the page asset we want to edit. We've found it is possible for other users to "Acquire Lock(s)" on the "Linking" and "Metadata" sections of the asset, but not on "Details" or "Edit Contents".
I find this quite strange! I would have thought that the root user would at least have access to everything.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Warwick
The root user and sys admin have the admin access to all the assets. I think the data of that page is corrupted, you need to contact Squiz support to look into the issue.
If the asset has a workflow applied and the asset is LIVE, nobody can edit it without first putting it into Safe Edit. Check to see if this is the cause.
Yes … thank you … we were just experimenting with the workflow, and when we turned it off the asset became editable again.
In retrospect I should have thought to go into safe edit - but I didn't think of it at the time, and the message about "permissions" led me to think there was a different problem.
