Re-indexing fails

I am getting this error when trying to re-index certain assets (using 3.14.3) and the Re-Index tool or the search manager.

[quote]ERROR: [ASSERT EXCEPTION] [string] "0" is not a valid asset ID [SYS0320][/quote]

there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to why some assets give the error when indexed and some don't, even assets that are virtually identical (other than their content)

strangely indexing the dependents of the assets that fail actually works ( such as the content divs etc in standard pages ) but the standard page itself fails!

any clues on how to troubleshoot this issue?

That looks a bit too weird. can you provide with Stack Trace. There was a similar issue mentioned on bug tracker "#2669 Reindex asset w/ denied metadata schema throws error". This issue was fixed in 3.14.4  . Worth having a look at it.

You are quite correct Ashish!

The problem was indeed caused by the Metadata Schema Denied property being set.
