Root user locked on Matrix

Hi,


Im not using the root account to access Matrix.

But I just realized that the account is locked, how can I unlock it?

Finally…


I first had to change the status of the root account to Live. Than I copied the encrypted password from my account into the root account. All this stuff I made direct to the database in the respective tables.



Then I could logon with my password on the root account.

The status of the root account means nothing. You can always log in as "root" no matter what.


If you're logging in as someone else, the account must be "live" to be active.

We've just copied our site on to our test server. Existing logins and passwords work except for the root user.



Does anyone know why???

There is no reason I can think of that would cause the root user password to change while the others stay the same and work correctly.
