RSS for iTunes

Anyone had experience of setting up the Matrix RSS asset to play nice with iTunes?

I have a community radio show presented by staff hosted on our website as .mp3 files and displayed via asset listing.

The iTunes guidelines seem to require a bunch of extra xml markup I’m unusure Matrix can produce out of the box - see iTunes Podcast guidelines

Any help to suggest what I can establish in Matrix to play nice with iTunes would be appreciated.

Cheers, Paul.

Yeah, we do this at www.puc.edu to get all of our recordings into iTunes. Here is how to do it.

Create a new Parse File with the following:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Then, create an asset listing and add something like the following to your page contents:

    Pacific Union College
Pacific Union College Audio Recordings - Week of Prayer, Colloquy, Church, Graduation.
    http://www.puc.edu
    en-us
    Copyright Pacific Union College

    Fri, 07 Jul 2006 00:15:00 -0500
    webmaster@puc.edu
    Pacific Union College

Pacific Union College Audio Recordings - Week of Prayer, Colloquy, Church, Graduation.

      Pacific Union College
      webmaster@puc.edu

    No

    	%asset_listing%

Then, customize your type format and enter something like the following:

    %asset_attribute_remote_url%
    %asset_attribute_remote_url%

    Podcasts
    %asset_created_iso8601%
    Pacific Union College
    No

    %asset_attribute_length%
puc, education, graduation, christian, sabbath, church, college

Then, on the WebPaths screen, make sure to give your page name a .xml extension.

We use a custom asset called Remote Audio, so I use different keywords than you might, but I think this will give you an idea of how to do it. :)

Let me know if you have any questions.

For webcal:// I just use a normal a href link and it works fine. RSS is just liked like normal.

Is that what you mean?

Thanks Nic, your guess is correct. So did you hard code the absolute URL in href?
