Is the matrix system automatically indexed on a regular basis for search purposes (if so how often) or do you have to do this manually via the search manager?
Is there a way of setting a nightly index via the cron manager.

If Indexing is enabled (Check the details screen of the Search Manager), then indexing occurs every time an asset is committed (i.e. immediately). There is no way to defer indexing.
